Urban Research Theater presents
a unique performance project:
Song Cycle
July 2007 The heart of this project is a "song cycle" of eleven original, highly evocative, wordless songs. The ensemble is currently in the process of developing a performance piece that weaves together movement and narrative elements within the frame of these songs.
In July 2007, there will be a small number of showings of this work in progress, developed and presented by Michele Farbman and Ben Spatz, with additional guidance from Ryan Etzel. Seating will be extremely limited and reservations will be required.
In additional, we are seeking additional performers for this project starting in September 2007. Candidates should be able to learn songs by ear, but formal musical training is not required. Acting or movement ability is a big plus. Participants will receive extensive physical and vocal training, and may be asked to contribute towards the monthly cost of space rental.
